Laptops for Everyone

You sure can't eat a laptop but you can start a billion dollar software company.

Good folk from many tech firms have built a cheap laptop with the hopes of narrowing the digital divide.

Other good folk have put up funding to distribute these machines.

One especially cool part of this story is that this machine was built from scratch. This is because most recipients have yet to interact with a computer and as a result they have no expectations.

Thanks for the initiative and thanks for the follow through.

Lets hope that one way or another this will feed some people.

STANDCANADA.ORG

Never Again are two words that are easy to say.
Maybe not as easy to say as ice cream but far easier then say nuclear reactor.

Still as easy as saying these words is, simply uttering them is only part of the battle. The harder part is giving them meaning.

Time, as it often does, has moved us so far away from the holocaust that the last members of the generation directly effected by it growing old and slowly leaving our world.

Yet again and again we have witnessed and continue to witness genocide. Today it is occurring in Darfur.

The situation is horrific to all involved millions have been raped, killed and displaced.

A jump off point for some real information can be found here.Publish

What I would like to do is say thanks to STANDCANADA.ORG

While those behind STANDCANADA.ORG could be complaining about tuition, getting high or even be downloading music, they have chosen instead to bring awareness to the conflict in Darfur.

In addition to the attempt to inform STANDCANADA.ORG always acts as a forum for mobilization and action.

So there you have it. Should you ever have the interest in using your time to help others this is a good place to start.
